Desktop Wallpaper of Saint Michel Chapel on Lake Serre-Poncon, Hautes-Alpes, France. Lake Serre-Poncon is known as “Sea in the Mountains”. It is one of the largest artificial lakes in Europe. St. Michel Chapel once stood on the top of a hill above a village and had to be carefully preserved when the dam was built in 1961. The chapel traces back to the 12th century, but was destroyed in the 17th century before being rebuilt. This image was featured by Bing Desktop.
